Ann Marie Jackson, age 74, passed away on December 23, 2025.
Born in Harlem, New York, Ann Marie grew up with a strong sense of resilience and pride that stayed with her throughout her life. She attended Evander Childs Educational Campus in Bronx, New York, and later studied Accounting at Community College of Philadelphia, graduating with her associate’s degree. She then transferred to Temple University, receiving her bachelor’s degree. She accomplished these heights in her 40s, which is a prime example of her resilience to beat the odds. Marie developed a strong work ethic and attention to detail, while having a love for numbers.
Ann Marie went on to share her knowledge for numbers working at Germantown Savings, Norrell Services Accounting Firm, Pep Boys Accounting Department and was also an accountant for the state of Pennsylvania before moving to Virginia to be closer to her beloved sister Colette Coates and brother George Crum. Marie and Colette took up education side by side, like any other adventure they have had. For Marie, teaching in Henrico County Public Schools was a huge change from your favorite tax lady, yet she took pride in supporting and guiding the students she encountered and believed deeply in the importance of learning, patience, and encouragement.
She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a sister, an aunt, a grandmother, and the heart of her family. Ann Marie was known for her warmth, strength, and the way she made those around her feel cared for and supported. Her love was steady and unconditional, and she gave it freely to her family and everyone fortunate enough to know her.
She shared a life filled with love alongside her husband, Reuben Guy III, and took great pride in her sons, Tyrone, Robert, and Reuben. Her family meant everything to her, and she dedicated her life to nurturing, guiding, and loving them.
Ann Marie was also a devoted Buddhist, and her beliefs influenced the way she lived—with mindfulness, compassion, and a calm presence that brought comfort to others.
Ann Marie’s presence brought laughter, reassurance, and a sense of home. Though she is no longer with us, the memories she created and the love she gave will continue to live on through her family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Noon on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Deep Run Recreation, 9900 Ridgefield Pkwy, Henrico, VA 23233.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
