New nonprofit network to host first meeting Jan. 28 in Henrico

The Current, a new peer network designed for Virginia nonprofit leaders and focused on practical learning and professional connection, will host its inaugural session Jan. 28 from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Libbie Mill Library in Henrico.
The session, Cover Your Assets: Essential Nonprofit Compliance, will be led by Laura Bennett of Blue Octopus Consulting, a BoardSource Certified nonprofit compliance expert.
The session will focus on how an organization can navigate regulatory requirements and protect itself from common pitfalls. It's sponsored by Blue Octopus Consulting and Trustward.
