Nearly 6,600 Dominion Energy customers in Henrico are without power following storms

Nearly 6,600 Dominion Energy customers in Henrico County remained without power as of 12:45 p.m. Monday, following storms that blew through the region Sunday.

The company was actively working a total of 132 restoration projects scattered throughout the county, according to its outage website.

The outages were affecting about 1,500 customers in the East Highland Park area between Richmond Raceway and Mechanicsville Turnpike in Northern Henrico and several hundred others throughout the Varina District, according to the company.

In the immediate aftermath of the storms Sunday evening, nearly 99,000 Dominion customers in the region were without power, the company reported. That figure had dropped to just about 51,000 customers shortly before midnight and was down to fewer than 20,000 as of early Monday afternoon.

Dominion has more than 161,600 customers in Henrico County.
