Anabelle Krawitz of Henrico is the recipient of The Dwight N. Lindley Prize at Hamilton College in New York. Established in honor of the 1942 Hamilton graduate who was also a professor of English at the College from 1952 to 1986, the award recognizes the best essay written during the academic year in an introductory-level course in English-language literature. Krawitz, a sophomore, is a graduate of Glen Allen High School.


Rishma Singh of Glen Allen was one of 457 Des Moines University Medicine and Health Sciences students to receive their white coat during the university's annual White Coat Ceremony held Sept. 19. The ceremony signifies the true start of a student’s medical education. Singh is part of the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine program.


Carson Rogers of Henrico was named to the summer 2025 dean’s list at the University of Alabama. To qualify for the dean’s list, full-time students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.5 or higher.


Gov. Glenn Youngkin recently announced additional appointments to his administration: Rare Disease Council – Dr. Tiffany Kimbrough of Glen Allen, general pediatrician at VCU School of Medicine; Board of Trustees of the Virginia Museum of Natural History – Dr. Melinda VanDevelder of Richmond, teacher at Henrico County Public Schools; Statewide Independent Living Council – Eric Raff of Henrico, director at Virginia Department for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing; Board for Contractors – Melissa Thornton of Henrico, realtor at Joyner Fine Properties.
