Virginia Gov. Abigail Spanberger recently appointed Bill Murray of Henrico to the Virginia State University Board of Directors. Murray is senior vice president of Corporate Affairs and Communications for Dominion Energy.
Naresh Anbazhagan of Glen Allen graduated May 23 with a master’s degree in Data Analytics from McDaniel College in Maryland.
Christopher Durette of Henrico graduated summa cum laude May 17 from Colgate University in New York. Durette, a graduate of St. Christopher’s School, majored in History and Native American Studies.
The following local students graduated in May from The College of Charleston in South Carolina: Emma Fredenburg (cum laude, Environmental and Sustainability Studies), Elizabeth Krey (cum laude, Marketing) and Carter Stokes (Business Administration), of Henrico; and Emma Trucksess (Marketing), of Glen Allen.
Sydni Denton of Henrico was named to the spring 2026 dean’s list at Point Park University in Pennsylvania. To qualify for this honor, students must earn a grade point average of 3.5 for the semester.
The following students from Henrico County were named to the spring 2026 dean’s list at Wofford College in South Carolina: Caroline Burke, Jane Hilbert, David Johnson and Mary Moorman.
Jordan Moody of Glen Allen was named to the spring 2026 dean’s list at the University of Buffalo in New York. To be eligible for this honor, full-time students must earn a minimum 3.600 grade point average for the semester.
The following students from Henrico County were named to the spring 2026 dean’s list at Grove City College in Pennsylvania: Anna Earman, Bethany Earman and Daniel Murphy. To qualify for this honor, students must earn a grade point average of 3.40-3.59 for the semester.
The following local students were named to the spring 2026 dean’s list at University of Maryland Global Campus: Yosef Alkhadra, Deanna Ball, Andrew Bennett, Michelle Black, Jenell Crews, Jace Darling, Mariem Gayed, Nicole Liggins, Kristin Mangum, Erik Matlack, Shammara Miller, Ricardo Pinzon, Derrick Rippy, Crystal Sauls and Jacob Workman, of Henrico; and Amia Gayle, Marion Green, Gelila Legesse, Katherine Simmons, Gary Spinelli and Tahlia Williams, of Glen Allen. To be eligible for this honor, students taking at least six credit hours must earn a minimum 3.5 grade point average for the semester and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 at UMGC.
