Andrew Baker of Glen Allen was named to the fall 2025 president’s list at Bob Jones University in South Carolina. To qualify for the president’s list, students must earn a minimum 3.75 grade point average for the semester. Baker is a senior majoring in Business Administration.
Luke Smith of Glen Allen was named to the fall 2025 president’s list at Union University in Tennessee. To be eligible for the president’s list, full-time students must earn a 4.0 grade point average for the semester.
Hank Talbot Thompson of Henrico graduated Dec. 12 from the University of Georgia. Thompson earned degrees in History and Political Science.
Jalen Pierce of Glen Allen last month earned one of the United East’s first Player of the Week awards for the winter sports season at Wilson College in Pennsylvania. A graduate of Collegiate School, Pierce is a senior on the Wilson men’s basketball team. He had an impressive opening weekend, averaging 21 points and 9 rebounds per game. He did so while shooting 80% (16-for-20) from the field as well.
Kevin Connelly of Henrico performed in November in the Student African Drum Ensembles at McDaniel College in Maryland. The program featured the traditional African songs "Lambaa," "Kuku," "Mengani," and "Macaru." Connelly is a senior Marketing major.
Gov. Glenn Youngkin recently appointed Chris Mowry of Henrico to the Cybersecurity Planning Committee. Mowry is chief information technology officer with Virginia State Police.
