Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin recently announced that the following Henrico residents have been appointed to state boards: Clean Energy Advisory Board – C. Meade Browder, Jr., senior assistant attorney general, Virginia Attorney General’s Office; Board of Accountancy – Guy Davis, senior managing director, FTI Consulting, Inc.; Advisory Council on Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders and Pediatric Acute-Onset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome – Daviid Jaffe, professor, Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine; Board of Optometry – Melissa C. Moeller, owner, Melissa C. Moeller, and staff optometrist, Department of Veterans Affairs; Virginia Board for Asbestos, Lead and Home Inspectors – John Broadway, attorney, Legislative Strategies Group, and former commissioner, Virginia Employment Commission.


The following students from Henrico County graduated May 29 from Washington and Lee University in Virginia: Elizabeth Ann Steilberg (cum laude), Andrew Lewis Thompson (summa cum laude), Emma Corinne Mitchell, Claire Byers Horner (cum laude), Mary Christian Kemp (cum laude) and Robina Knox Gregg.


Kyle Jamison and Clare Murphy of Henrico graduated in May from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Both students earned bachelor's degrees in Business Administration.


Abby Gray and Alyssa McGinnis of Henrico recently graduated from Miami University in Ohio.


The following students from Henrico County recently graduated from the University of Maryland Global Campus: Christian Jenkins (summa cum laude), Jordan Guerrero-Sargent, Nadine Rose, Felipe Avalos, Quimara Bedminster, Carleigh Bennett, Felicia Clark and Meghan McNicholas.


The following local students from Shenandoah University in Virginia earned Old Dominion Athletic Conference All-Academic Team honors: Parker Bell, Sydnee Flores, Caden Sherman and Braxton Snead, of Glen Allen; and Lillian Berger and Xavier Thompson, of Henrico. Eligibility for the ODAC All-Academic Team is open to any student-athlete who competes in a conference-sponsored sport, regardless of academic class. Prospective honorees must achieve at least a 3.25 grade point average for the academic year to be considered for recognition.


Pulkit Iyer of Henrico earned faculty honors for the spring 2025 semester at the Georgia Institute of Technology. This designation is awarded to undergraduate students who have earned a 4.0 academic average for the semester.


Ronojoy Dutta and Javier Rodriguez of Glen Allen were named to the spring 2025 dean’s list at the Georgia Institute of Technology. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a minimum 3.0 grade point average for the semester.
