Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls will open its second Richmond-area location July 25, bringing its authentic New England-style lobster rolls to Short Pump.
The restaurant will be located in The Shoppes at Westgate at 11761-A West Broad Street, across from Short Pump Town Center. It will open for the first time at 11 a.m. July 25 and will host an official grand-opening event Wednesday, July 30.
Guests will be able to enter (through Aug. 25) to win a free lobster roll every week for one year. Guests who mention "I love lobster" at checkout in the restaurant through Aug. 6 will receive a free side or fountain drink with the purchase of any roll.
Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls offers both classic Maine and Connecticut styles along with lobster BLT and lobster salad rolls. Each roll is prepared with traditional recipes. Other menu items include shrimp salad, crab roll, New England clam chowder, lobster bisque, and lobster mac and cheese.
The restaurant was founded in 2014 by Dan Beck, a former restaurant seafood buyer who spent time with Maine lobstermen, began franchising stores in 2016 and has since grown to more than 30 locations.
“We’ve loved seeing Richmond fall in love with Mason’s at our Midlothian location, and we couldn’t be more excited to introduce the brand to more of our community with our new Short Pump location,” said Lisa Stroud, owner and operator of Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls in Midlothian and Short Pump.
Lisa Stroud, Kevin Stroud and Kevin Stroud Jr. opened the Richmond area’s first Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls last September and also operate a Mason’s food truck trailer that travels around the Richmond area.
The new Mason’s location will serve the community from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday through Thursday and from 10:30 a.m. until 90 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
