Local families encouraged to take the Cap Trail Summer Challenge

Table of Contents
The Cap Trail Summer Challenge – an opportunity for families to choose a distance goal and run, walk, bike, skate, or dance their way to achieving it – is open now through September 8.
Thanks to a H.E.A.R.T. grant (awarded to nonprofit community organizations advancing environmental sustainability in Henrico County), the Virginia Capital Trail Foundation is offering a limited number of free registrations for the challenge to Henrico County students and their families.
Families can aim to complete all 51.7 miles of the Virginia Capital Trail, or double down and go for 103.4 miles, or shoot for 517 miles (10 times the length of the trail, in honor of the Trail's upcoming 10th birthday). Whether completed in large chunks or one mile at a time, the Challenge requires passing each and every mileage post on the Virginia Capital Trail at least once. Miles should be completed by September 8 (results can be submitted on your RunSignUp profile (result submission will stay open for 48 hours after the challenge ends).
Families interested in participating in the H.E.A.R.T. partnership opportunity can fill out the form here. For details, contact Kenzie at (804) 788-6452 or mackenzie@virginiacapitaltrail.org.
