Local agency among final five contestants for Webby Award
Locally based Newviews Agency is among give remaining entrants in the running for "Best Documentary: Midform" as part of the 30th Annual Webby Awards, presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences.

Among more than 13,000 entries from more than 70 countries, The Newviews Agency's Echoes of a Dream: MLK's Impact in Richmond, Virginia advanced to the final five films under consideration. The nomination places the agency among major national names in one of the most competitive categories in digital storytelling, includig PBS, National Geographic, and Business Insider.
“This is a massive moment for us, for the film, and for everyone who helped bring this story to life,” said Tyrone Nelson Jr., director of the film and founder of The Newviews Agency. “To see a story rooted in our community recognized on this stage, alongside some of the biggest names in the industry, is amazing. Now we have a real opportunity to bring this home, and that will take the full support of Richmond and every community connected to this work. We’re trying to put a real engine behind the public vote and rally as much support as possible to get this across the finish line.”

The winning entry will earn a Webby People’s Voice Award. Voting closes April 16 and winners will be announced on Tuesday, April 21 and honored in a star-studded show at Cipriani Wall Street.
Echoes of a Dream: MLK’s Legacy in Richmond, Virginia is a 9-minute, 15-second short-form historical feature that explores a lesser-known but deeply significant chapter in King’s life. Although much of the public memory of King is shaped by his national speeches and marches, Richmond served as a foundational backdrop to his early organizing, relationships, and vision.
