Henrico Too Smart 2 Start Coalition will host a community conversation Nov. 18 in Highland Springs about reducing and preventing youth substance misuse and drugged driving.

"It Takes a Village" will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at The Oak Avenue Complex at 15 South Oak Avenue in Highland Springs. With the proliferation of vape shops and a pending retail marijuana market, Henrico Too Smart 2 Start Coalition officials are inviting community members to discuss ways to protect youngsters.

Attendees will have access to a relevant resource fair and will be offered refreshments. The event will kick off with "ThinkFast Interactive," designed for youth ages 13 to 17, and "Hidden in Plain Sight," aimed at parents and adult community members. Both sessions will provide Henrico-specific information about the issues, and they will be interactive, offering attendees opportunities to win prizes.

The event will conclude with a panel discussion with specialists, practitioners, and community leaders from the county.  The audience will learn about trends in Henrico, as well as best practices, and will have an opportunity to ask questions and offer solutions.

Attendees are asked to register at https://qrco.de/bfz9l7.
