The Henrico County Police Animal Shelter will hold a "Fixin’ to go Home for the Holidays" animal adoption event on Saturday, Dec. 13, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 10421 Woodman Road.
The William A. Harrison Jr. Foundation and Furbish Thrift are sponsoring spay and neuter surgeries for the animals, and the Henrico Humane Society is sponsoring the adoption fees of any pets adopted during the event.
Sussex County and Petersburg City animal services are partnering with Henrico for the event and will bring adoptable pets from their shelters as well.
People interested in pet adoption must be 18 or older and will need to bring a valid photo ID. A collar and leash or cat carrier are suggested but not required for adopters’ convenience for bringing a new pet home. Being a resident of Henrico County is not a requirement for adopting a pet from the shelter.
View all the pets available for adoption ahead of time through the shelter’s PetFinder page.
