Henrico County officials have released a revised proposed 2045 Land Use Plan, which upon adoption will serve as a guide for county planners, the Henrico Planning Commission and the Henrico Board of Supervisors as future land-use cases are proposed and considered.

At a 6 p.m. Henrico Board of Supervisors meeting Oct. 28, county staffers will introduce an ordinance to establish Virginia’s first local animal cruelty registry in Henrico.
The board next would hold a public hearing and then vote on the ordinance at a Dec. 2 meeting. If approved,
Varina District Supervisor Tyrone Nelson and Henrico Planning Director Joe Emerson presented the county’s new land conservation proposal to Varina District residents at an Oct. 20 community meeting.
The proposal, which Emerson introduced to the Henrico Board of Supervisors last month, would place about 27% of the Varina District
