Three Henrico County students were named winners in the 2025 Congressional Art Competition for the First and Fourth districts in Virginia.
Glen Allen homeschool student Victoria Ji won the competition in the First District, while Henrico High School eleventh-grader Journi Marlow won the Fourth District competition and Hermitage High School 10th grader Olivia Price took second place. U.S. Representatives Rob Wittman (R-First District) and Jennifer McClellan (D-Fourth District) made the announcements recently.
Ji, who studies art under Nancy Jacey of The Jacey Gallery in Henrico, was honored for her painting, July, which depicts a solitary figure walking through grass beneath bright clouds.
"I was truly blown away by the artistic skill displayed by Victoria, and I look forward to seeing her outstanding painting proudly hung in the U.S. Capitol," Wittman said. "I also want to thank every student from Virginia’s First District who submitted their artwork in this year’s competition."

Marlow won for her acrylic painting, In Our Hands.
"Her piece is a beautiful representation of the American justice system, its fragility, and the promise held by the American people to uphold it,” said McClellan. “It is an honor to host this art competition and provide an opportunity for students across the district to showcase their work."

Price earned second place overall in the Fourth District (and first place in the "Drawings" category for her pencil and acrylic drawing, New Form of Life.
In addition to having their artwork showcased in the U.S. Capitol alongside winning pieces from across the country, the winners also will have the chance to meet with their representatives in person in Washington, D.C.
In the Fourth District competition, awards also were given to several students in individual categories, including to Jeremiah Adkins of Varina High School, who earned an honorable mention award in the Drawings category.
