Henrico student wins bronze in Microsoft Office Specialist U.S. National Championship

Rachel Hamlin of Henrico recently won a bronze award in the Microsoft Office Specialist U.S. National Championship, a competition for students ages 13 to 22 who begin by submitting a qualified passing score on one of three Microsoft Office certification exams.  

Hamlin is a student at Appalachian State University. 

Certiport, a provider of performance-based IT certification exams, announced the winners following the live competitive event in Grapevine, Texas.             

During the competitive event, 190 finalists were tested on their knowledge and mastery of Word, Excel, or PowerPoint. 

Hamlin won third place in the Microsoft Excel (Microsoft 365 Apps) group and took home a cash award of $1,000.  First-place winners will continue to the Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship in Orlando, Florida, in July.
