Henrico Schools to begin FACE Summer Tour neighborhood visits June 10

Henrico Schools' Division of Family and Community Engagement will begin its annual summer tour of 12 Henrico communities June 10 and continue them until July 24.

The tour is designed to bring community-building festivities and summer resources to the neighborhoods, while connecting students and their families to key resources during summer as a way to keep them engaged and ready for the coming school year.

Each stop will include music, lawn games, free books and giveaways, the HCPS Mobile Resource Center, STEM activities, giveaways and resources designed to support students in school and their families at home.

Staff members from local schools, interpreters and local partners also will join the tour, which will include the new Mobile Resource Center, which was officially unveiled in September. 

Each stop will take place from noon to 2 p.m. unless noted otherwise:

• Tuesday, June 10: Delmont Village, 3716 Delmont Street, Henrico, 23222;

• Thursday, June 12: Woodman West apartments, 1812 Blackburn Road East, Glen Allen, 23060;

• Tuesday, June 17: Nottingham Green apartments, 9302 Gallant Drive, Henrico, 23229;

• Tuesday, June 24: Hope Village Apartments, 1606 Hope Road, Glen Allen, 23060

• Thursday, June 26: Springfield Apartments, 9500 Brightway Court, Henrico, 23294;

• Tuesday, July 1: The Oak Avenue Complex, 15 South Oak Avenue, Highland Springs, 23075;

• Tuesday, July 8: Hunters Ridge apartments, 2400 Milhaven Drive, Henrico, 23228;

• Thursday, July 10: Extended Stay America, 4231 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, 23060 (10 a.m. to noon);

• Tuesday, July 15: Henrico Arms apartments, 1664 Henrico Place, Henrico, 23231;

• Thursday, July 17: Motel 6, 7831 Shrader Road, Henrico, 23294 (10 a.m. to noon);

• Tuesday, July 22: Landmark at Patterson apartments, 9101 Patterson Avenue, Henrico, 23239;

• Thursday, July 24: Express Airport Inn, 5700 Williamsburg Road, Sandston, VA 23150 (10 a.m. to noon).

Before the 2025-26 school year begins on Aug. 18, the school system also will host the 2025 HCPS Back-to-School Kickoff event at the Henrico Sports & Events Center July 31, featuring student basketball, dodgeball and indoor soccer tournaments, as well as live music, activities, giveaways, meet-and-greets with school representatives and more.
