Henrico Schools opens kindergarten registration for 2026-27 school year

Kindergarten registration for the 2026-27 school year is officially open in Henrico County, and families have the opportunity to begin the registration process online or visit their zoned elementary schools to complete the entire process in person during the 2026-27 Kindergarten Registration Kickoff on Thursday, April 9.

Registration is open for Henrico children who will be 5 years old by Sept. 30 at www.henricoschools.us/page/registration-enrollment-2026-2027. Parents and guardians are encouraged to register their child or children by July 1 to avoid potential delays at the start of the 2026-27 school year.

At the April 9 kickoff event, registrars and other staff at all 46 elementary schools will be on site and ready to guide families through each step of registration from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Documents needed to register include, but are not limited to:

• original/state-issued birth certificate;
• proof of residency;
• immunization records;
• completed physical (dated no earlier than 12 months before the date the child will begin school);
• picture ID or driver’s license for parents/legal guardians that includes current Henrico address.

Translation services will be available at the 2026-27 Kindergarten Registration Kickoff for multilingual families. Children are welcome to attend with their parents or guardians.
