Henrico County Public Schools will host its annual Life-Ready Expo Sept. 17 to help students learn more about potential career paths.

The event will take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Hermitage High School, 8301 Hungary Spring Road.

Students in grades 6 through 12 and their families are invited to explore a wide range of career opportunities and connect directly with more than 125 employers and industry leaders. Companies and organizations will represent fields such as health care, manufacturing, human services, skilled trades, public safety, and engineering technology.

Attendees will be able to learn about career paths, job requirements, compensation, and growth potential; meet professionals from Virginia’s career clusters; and hear firsthand what skills and education employers are seeking.

Interpreters in Spanish, Dari, and Arabic will be available.

The expo is part of the school system’s broader mission to prepare students for life beyond the classroom. It supports the Henrico Learner Profile — HCPS’ framework for K-12 education — and aligns with the division’s “Journey to 2030” strategic plan, which emphasizes flexible, engaging pathways to future success.

Recognized nationally for innovation by the National Association of Counties, the Life-Ready Expo has drawn large crowds and inspired similar programs across the country. The event is sponsored by HCPS’ Department of Workforce and Career Development.
