Henrico officials invite public input about draft comprehensive plan at March 9 meeting

Residents and other community stakeholders are invited to help shape Henrico’s future by participating in a meeting Monday, March 9 as part of HenricoNEXT, the county’s process to update its comprehensive plan.

The Department of Planning will host the meeting from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Henrico Theatre, 305 East Nine Mile Road. It will include an overview of the draft plan and its key components as well as an opportunity to provide feedback in real time and to ask questions.

County officials have been working for several years to craft the updated iteration of the comprehensive plan.

“The HenricoNEXT planning process aims to create a cohesive, countywide vision for Henrico’s future and a strategy to make it a reality,” Planning Director Joe Emerson said. “The engagement of our community is essential to the plan’s success. We encourage residents to attend the meeting on March 9, so they learn about the draft recommendations and provide feedback to help guide decision-making in Henrico for the next two decades.”
