Henrico Humane Society to host 25th annual Pet Expo Feb. 21
The Henrico Humane Society is inviting animal lovers and families to celebrate its 25th Annual Pet Expo on Saturday, Feb. 21, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Richmond Raceway Complex, 600 East Laburnum Avenue in Henrico.
The long-running indoor event has become a staple for Central Virginia pet enthusiasts and this year will include more than 60 vendors offering pet-related products, services, demonstrations, and food. All proceeds will benefit the Humane Society’s mission to rescue and place dogs and cats into loving homes throughout the region.
In addition to browsing vendor booths, visitors can take part in a variety of activities designed for both pets and people. Highlights include pet contests, puppy races, a lure course, professional and caricature pet photos, and dog-friendly treats like ice cream.
Children will find no shortage of entertainment with face painting, games, crafts, and a stuffed animal adoption stand where they can bring their plush pet for a fun “vet exam” at the Little Paws Vet Clinic.
For those hoping to expand their family, the expo also offers opportunities to meet adoptable dogs, many of whom are ready to find forever homes.
Tickets are available online and at the door: $8 in advance and $10 the day of the event for adults; $5 for children ages 6–12; and free admission for children under 6 and pets.
The Pet Expo has grown into one of the Humane Society’s largest annual fundraisers, combining family fun with community support for animal welfare. Organizers encourage attendees to bring their leashed pets to enjoy the festivities while supporting a good cause.
