Henrico centenarian joins 'Heroes Among Us' veterans honored at War Memorial program
On Feb. 12, the Virginia War Memorial hosted a presentation by WTVR-TV CBS6 reporter/anchor Greg McQuade, featuring video segments from some of his most memorable portrayals of Virginia veterans from the last 25 years.
Among the veterans honored at "Heroes Among Us: Veterans Voices with Greg McQuade" was Henrico County resident Dan Dorchak (pictured, at right, visiting with Vietnam veteran Dave Lipp after the presentation).
Dorchak, who flew 52 missions in World War II as a bombardier in the Army Air Corps, was featured in one of McQuade's stories in 2024 – just weeks after his 100th birthday.
