On Oct. 14 at 6 p.m., the Henrico Board of Supervisors will hear 10 rezoning cases and provisional use permit applications that would allow 315 new single-family homes, townhouses, and apartment units to be built in the county.

A PUP case that involved a proposed data center off of Darbytown Road was initially set to be heard by the board Oct. 14, but was withdrawn by the applicant Oct. 13.

The rezoning cases would impact areas in the Varina District, Tuckahoe District, and Fairfield District. The Henrico Planning Commission recommended the board approve all cases except the rezoning case impacting the Varina District, which developers have requested be deferred until Nov. 12:

• Varina District – approval would rezone 17.5 acres of land northwest of the intersection between Nine Mile Road and Newbridge Road to allow for the construction of 60 new single-family homes;

• Tuckahoe District (two connected cases) – approval would rezone about three acres of land southwest of the intersection between Patterson Avenue and Pump Road to construct two five-story buildings with 150 multi-family apartment units and additional office spaces;

• Tuckahoe District – approval would rezone about seven acres of land southwest of the intersection between Church Road and Covey Run Drive to construct 14 new single-family homes;

• Fairfield District – approval would rezone about eight acres of land southeast of the intersection between N. Laburnum Avenue and Creighton Road to construct 32 new single-family homes;

• Fairfield District – approval would rezone about nine acres of land southwest of the intersection between Mountain Road and Woodman Road to construct 58 new townhouses;

• Fairfield District – approval would rezone 0.4 acres of land northwest of the intersection between Mountain Road and North Run Road to construct one single-family home.

Three other rezoning cases would add offices or businesses to certain areas or conserve undeveloped land. The Henrico Planning Commission has recommended approval for all cases:

• Three Chopt District – approval would rezone about 12 acres of land near the intersection between Mayland Drive and N. Parham Road to allow renovations to an existing office building;

• Tuckahoe District – approval would rezone about two acres of land southeast of the intersection between Old Parham Road and Blankenship Road to build a snooker hall in part of the Old Parham Road Center;

• Brookland District – approval would rezone about three acres of land northeast of Cloverdale Street to allow for the conservation of an undeveloped wooded area.

At a 3:45 p.m special meeting on Oct. 14, the board will also receive an update on the St. Luke’s Apartment Complex, an update on the county’s water sale agreement with Cumberland County, an update on the Animal Cruelty Register, and news on local impacts of the federal government shutdown.
