Rebekah’s Legacy, Inc., a Henrico-based organization dedicated to raising awareness and advancing solutions to end domestic violence, recently earned 501(c)(3) nonprofit status from the Internal Revenue Service.

The organization now can receive tax-deductible contributions to help further its mission and strengthen partnerships.

“Achieving 501(c)(3) status is a pivotal moment for our organization,” said Angela Mastrovito, founder and executive director of Rebekah’s Legacy. “It strengthens our foundation and positions us to scale our efforts to raise awareness, support survivors and collaborate with partners across sectors to address and ultimately eradicate domestic violence.”

As an organization, Rebekah’s Legacy focuses on public awareness campaigns, survivor-centered technology solutions, advocacy initiatives, community education and partnerships with law enforcement in its efforts to help reduce and prevent domestic violence.

The organization is named for Rebekah Grace Rose Barsotti, Mastroito's daughter, who went missing at the age of 33 in 2021 in Montana under suspicious circumstances after having filed domestic violence charges against her estranged husband. Her remains were discovered about a year later.

Volunteer, donation and partnership opportunities are available. For details, visit the organization's website.
