Travelers out of Richmond International Airport now have two new low-cost options for reaching major U.S. hubs, as Frontier Airlines officially launched its first flights from RIC this week.

The Denver-based carrier marked its debut at RIC, Oct. 17, with the start of twice-weekly nonstop service to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. A second direct route – to Denver International Airport – will begin Oct. 19. To celebrate the milestone, Frontier is offering promotional fares starting at $29 for Atlanta and $49 for Denver.

“We are very excited to make our debut here at RIC and begin offering area consumers low-cost travel options to Georgia, Colorado, and the many exciting destinations we serve beyond,” said Rob Harris, corporate communications manager for Frontier Airlines.

Perry Miller, president and CEO of the Capital Region Airport Commission, called the launch “an exciting milestone” for RIC and its travelers.

“With flights to Atlanta now underway and service to Denver beginning this weekend, Frontier’s arrival marks an exciting milestone for our region,” Miller said. “These routes not only offer affordable, convenient options for travelers but also strengthen Richmond’s connections to two of the nation’s most dynamic cities.”

Both routes will operate twice weekly, though flight frequency and times may vary. Details and booking options are available at flyfrontier.com
