Liana Hardy is the Henrico Citizen's government and education reporter and joined the publication in July 2023. She spent her first two years as the Citizen's education reporter, through its partnership with Report for America, and has earned four awards for excellence in journalism from the Virginia Press Association during her tenure.
Hardy is a native of Arlington, Virginia and a graduate of Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., where she worked on the student newspaper covering student life, student activism, and the university’s response to issues such as COVID-19 and financial aid. She also served as an intern at the Alexandria Times in Alexandria, covering topics such as school safety, arts education, local politics and sports.
