Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen to debut 4 new exhibits Sept. 18

The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen will celebrate the grand opening of four new art exhibits with a free gallery show Thursday, Sept. 18, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Guests can meet the featured artists — Khalid Thompson, Kelly U Johnson, Dennis Rozema, and members of The Richmond Weavers Guild — while enjoying a night of art, conversation, and community. A wine and beer cash bar will be available, with proceeds benefiting the center’s ArtReach programs.

The new exhibits include:
- Spontaneous Combustion – Khalid Thompson’s vibrant, mixed-media works, inspired by music, nature, and cultural connection.
- Piecing It Together: A Retrospective of Kelly U Johnson – Color-rich, layered compositions that tell stories of strength and beauty.
- Mandala String Art – Dennis Rozema’s intricate designs inspired by sacred geometry, blending ancient concepts with modern craft.
- Weaving – A showcase by The Richmond Weavers Guild, featuring handwoven pieces, fiber art tools, and demonstrations of traditional techniques.
