The Cultural Arts Center in Glen Allen recently announced a packed 2025-26 season starring indie-reggae 2000s hit musical artist Jason Mraz, comedy performances and more.
The 12-performance Center Season features a curation of music, theater and dance, and the nine-performance Second Stage season brings live performances spanning decades of music genres.
Center Season
The center season kicks off on Sept. 5 with a returning fan-favorite The Capitol Fools, a political comedy performance.
The Freehorse Arts Songwriter Series will bring Mechanicsville native Jason Mraz, singer of the 2000s hit “I’m Yours,” to perform on Dec. 13 and 14 as the fourth show in the season.
The season also includes a bluegrass and The Grateful Dead mash-up from Deadgrass, a musical biography of Hattie McDaniel and NBC’s The Voice star Nathan Chester and the Old Soul’s Motown Revival.
Tickets start at $25 and can be purchased individually or in a subscription package. For details about performances and tickets, click here.
Second Stage
Starting Sept. 7, The Cultural Arts Center will host a live concert each month (except for January, July and August) featuring genres like doo-wop, skiffle, southern soul and R&B. Concerts will be held indoors and outdoors.
Tickets can be purchased on The Cultural Arts Center website and more information on performances can be found in the season brochure.
More family fun
The public will be able to join the grand opening of four new exhibits at the center July 17 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The exhibits focus on environmental harm, psychedelic-paper cut and design, photography and glass art.
Other special events throughout the season include Makers Market Days throughout the year.
The Cultural Arts Center also organizes art classes for all ages and “artreach” programs in the community.
