A Creative World School is coming to Henrico's Far West End.
The school, part of a national franchise of early education centers, will offer care and learning for children from infants to school-age. It will be located on just more than 2 acres at Pouncey Tract Road and Twin Hickory Lake Road in Glen Allen, across the street from Colonial Trail Elementary School and near Short Pump Middle School.
Prime Venture Services LLC recently purchased the site from CA Twin Hickory LLC for $960,000.
David M. Smith of Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer handled the sale negotiations on behalf of the seller.
Creative World School was founded in 1970 by early childhood educators Billie and Duane McCabe in Independence, Missouri. The company expanded to operate 45 45 childcare centers in seven states.
In 2000, the couple's daughter, Marianne Whitehouse, became the company's CEO, and two years later, it introduced the Exploratorium, a signature, interactive learning space designed to empower preschool and pre-k students to explore with hands-on experiences using special materials and resources typically not found in a classroom.
The company began franchising in 2004 and currently has 28 locations in six states (Florida, Georgia, Texas, Missouri, Indiana, Virginia), including one in Chesapeake, Virginia.
