Schwarzschild Jewelers will close its Short Pump Town Center location in mid-January in a bid to consolidate operations, Richmond BizSense recently reported. The long-running jewelry retailer has been at the Henrico mall for 20 years. Schwarzschild’s other two locations, Carytown Exchange in Richmond and Alverser Plaza in Midlothian, will remain open.

The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen is seeking a part-time, after-school art instructor to work on location at three elementary schools. Hours will be 3:15 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. The position will require leading art projects for kids, teaching basic art techniques, encouraging creativity and setting up/taking down art supplies at each school. Qualified candidates should have a background in art or art education, have experience working with children, and be able to pass a background check.
