AARP Virginia is rolling out a series of free online programs in September designed to help older adults and their families live healthier, more informed lives. The lineup ranges from budget-friendly cooking demonstrations and at-home fitness classes to in-depth discussions on Social Security, elder mediation, and decluttering.

All sessions are open to the public, but advance registration is required.

(The other Dinner in a Snap classes will take place Sept. 9, 16, 23 and 30 at the same time.)

On Sept. 4, participants can explore The Connection Between Civic Engagement and Social Security from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. and/or the first in a fall series of Strength and Stretch exercise classes from 5:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. The monthly fitness sessions will continue Oct. 2, Nov. 6, and Dec. 4.
