Crime Stoppers’ Crime of the Week: Oct. 16, 2017


This week, Metro Richmond Crime Stoppers is asking for the public to assist the Richmond Police Department in the identification of wayward artists that were using buildings as their canvas.

In the early morning hours of Sept. 14, four people were recorded on security cameras vandalizing multiple properties in the area of the 2500 blocks of West Main Street and Floyd Avenue. The suspects (pictured) were walking north on Robinson Street and spray painting the properties as they meandered along.

Crime Stoppers’ Crime of the Week: Oct. 9, 2017


This week, Crime Stoppers is asking for the public to assist the Richmond Police Department with a recent homicide investigation.

On Tuesday, Oct. 3, at approximately 10:30 p.m., Richmond Police responded to an apartment in the 4000 block of Midlothian Turnpike for a report of a person shot. Upon arrival, officers located the victim, Larry Scott, down inside the apartment suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Crime Stoppers needs your help to locate a dangerous fugitive who is wanted by the Richmond Police Department.

Detoin Sherod Melton is wanted for his participation in a home invasion robbery that occurred in Richmond’s South Side on Jan. 13. Melton, along with two other males, forced their way into the victim’s homes while brandishing a shotgun.

Crime Stoppers’ Crime of the Week: Sept. 25, 2017


Crime stoppers needs your help to solve a double homicide that occurred in the City of Richmond in June of this year.

On Wednesday, June 7, at approximately 9:53 p.m., Richmond police officers responded to several calls for random gunfire in the 3600 block of Decatur Street. They arrived and found the victims, two males, Christian Singleton and Ketron Wells. The victims were outside on the ground lying near each other. Both victims had received fatal gunshot wounds.

Crime Stoppers’ Crime of the Week: Sept. 18, 2017


Crime Stoppers is seeking information about a shooting in Richmond that resulted in an injured child and the murder of an adult.

At approximately 10:21 p.m., Sept. 9, Richmond Police were called to the 3200 block of 5th Avenue for a report of a person shot. They quickly located two victims suffering from gunshot wounds, a 57-year-old male and a 9-year-old female.

Crime Stoppers still needs your help with a quadruple shooting that left one woman dead.

The shooting occurred the evening of June 15 in the City’s North Side. Officers responded to Old Brook Road for a report of a fight in progress. At the same time, a call for shots fired was also received for the same location.

Crime Stoppers needs your help to find the person who struck a pedestrian in the City of Richmond.

On July 21 at 12:52 a.m., a woman was crossing the street at Forest Hill and Sheila Lane when she was struck by a dark colored four-door sedan that was traveling eastbound on Forest Hill. She was transported by ambulance to Chippenham Hospital for minor injuries and released.

Crime Stoppers needs your help to solve a Hit & Run in the City of Richmond.

The crime occurred in the Carver neighborhood at the intersection of West Broad and Goshen Streets, around 6:45 p.m. on Sunday, May 7. Officers were told the victim was on his motorcycle and traveling westbound on West Broad Street.

Crime Stoppers’ Crime of the Week – June 26, 2017


Richmond detectives need the public’s help to identify the vehicle and suspects in the shooting incident of a 7-year-old boy and an adult male. Can you help Crime Stoppers solve this latest shooting?

The shooting occurred in the 1500 block of North 22nd Street in the Fairmount neighborhood of the city. Officers arrived and found the two victims near a bus stop.

Police in Richmond are still looking for the person who they say robbed the FasMart at 2107 Semmes Avenue. Crime Stoppers needs the public's help identifying this suspect.

The robbery occurred at approximately 12:45 a.m. on Wednesday, May 31. The suspect entered the store pointing the weapon at the store clerk. As the suspect walked toward the counter, a second employee approached the suspect and grabbed the barrel of the weapon.

Crime Stoppers’ Crime of the Week: June 5, 2017

It’s been nearly six months since a senseless act left one woman dead and a family looking for answers. Crime Stoppers still needs your help to solve the Murder of 57-year-old Karon Williams.

On Jan. 15, police were called to the 3100 block of Cliff Avenue for what was initially an in-progress burglary. When officers arrived, they found the victim, Karon E. Williams, 57, of the 3100 block of Cliff Avenue, with an apparent gunshot wound.

Crime Stoppers wants to know if you can identify the suspect that Richmond Police say is believed to have broken into a business along the Jefferson Davis corridor last month.

Several items were taken during a breaking and entering in the 4600 Block of Jefferson Davis Highway.

Crime Stoppers’ Crime of the Week - May 8, 2017


Crime Stoppers needs the public's assistance to help identify the suspects in a shooting that occurred in the Barton Heights neighborhood.

At approximately 5:19 p.m. May 1, multiple police units responded to the Norrell Elementary School Annex at 201 W. Graham Road for an active shooter situation. It was reported that three suspects forced entry into the building and were possibly still on-scene. When units arrived, they quickly set a perimeter and cleared the building.

One person was found suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound in the building.

Crime Stoppers’ Crime of the Week - May 2, 2017


Crime Stoppers needs your help to identify a man who Richmond detectives say broke into several businesses in the Fan District.

The incidents occurred throughout January, March and April.

Surveillance cameras captured the images of the man pictured. He is described as a black male with a light complexion and a stocky build. He is bald, has a dark beard, is approximately 30 to 50 years old, and 5’9” to 5’11 tall.
