Obituary – William E. Kidd

William E. "Billy the Kidd" Kidd 83, of Henrico, died Wednesday, April 1, 2015. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Martha Lee Duggan Kidd; his son, William E. Kidd Jr. "Bubba"; and his brother, Walter B. Kidd Jr. He is survived by his three daughters, Suzanne Conyers (Jerry), Debi Payne (Jeff) and Kathy Cole (Johnny); a daughter-in-law, Norma Kidd-Hughes; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara Caswell and Joyce Anderson; a host of nieces and nephews; and his companion, Pat Long Smith and her daughters, Susan McCarthy and Michael Maria Lomerson. Billy was the owner/operator of Kidd Plumbing. He was a U.S. Navy veteran (Frogman) and past president of the Virginia Quarter Horse Association for seven years. The family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday (today) at Bliley's-Central, 3801 Augusta Ave. A graveside service will be held 12 noon Friday at Greenwood Memorial Gardens. The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Khalid Matin and the staff at VCU Massey Cancer Center for the excellent care given to Billy.

The Virginia Hemophilia Foundation’s 2017 VHF Trick or Trot 5K and Fun Walk will start at 9 a.m. at Robious Landing Park, Shelter 3, in Midlothian. There will be a 5K course, a quick one-mile route and the Monster Dash, a 100-yard fun run for kids 12 and under. Costumes are highly encouraged. A pre-race Halloween party will feature a DJ, food and more. Funds raised will go toward fulfilling VHF's mission of supporting the needs of those impacted by a bleeding disorder through education, advocacy, and community.
