Obituary – Robert (Bob) Laurence Regnier

Robert (Bob) Laurence Regnier, 74, passed away on August 3rd, 2017. He was a proud combat veteran from the Vietnam War, serving in both the Army and Navy, and was a devoted and lifetime member of the VFW, NRA and Republican Party. He lived in many places. After growing up in Baltimore, the Navy brought him to Japan and elsewhere overseas, Key West, Virginia Beach. After retirement from the services, he enjoyed the rural charm of Tappahannock and finally settled in Richmond, working a second career at the Goochland Prison. He was a devoted husband and father, finding love and joy in his close family and especially pride in his son and his accomplishments. Many summers were spent traveling to Ocean City, MD as a child, and eventually as an adult, and taking his own young family to enjoy Thrashers fries on the boardwalk. Bob was a life-long animal lover with his wife, and loved nothing more than a car ride to the park with the family dogs, the last of which was Misty. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Raymond and Frances Regnier, and sister, Joanna Moore. Bob is survived by his loving wife whom he met while stationed in Kamiseya, Japan, Terumi Kurata Regnier; sister, Elizabeth Beil (Matt Schulte); and son Raymond Regnier (Katlyn); and a large and loving family full of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and pets. Services will be held at Woodys funeral home in Richmond VA on Sunday, August 6th at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made on behalf of Bob to K9s for Warriors, http://www.k9sforwarriors.org/
