Obituary – Mae Pohlig Moore Andrews

Mae Pohlig Moore Andrews, of Richmond, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2017. Mae was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Dick Poage; her first husband, John Curtis Moore; and her second husband, Ralph Edward Andrews. Mae is survived by her children, Christy Thomas and Curt Moore; her grandchildren, Dawn-Lee Evans, J.C. Thomas and Elena Zanchi; and her great-granddaughter, Madeline Ann Evans. She is also survived by the Melton family, Mary and Nelson and their children, David, William, Timmy, Jenny and Stephen; as well as 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mae was a beloved resident of Cedarfield retirement community for over 20 years, a long-term member of Trinity United Methodist Church, and a devoted volunteer for Meals-on-Wheels for 25 years. Mae lived her 96 years with energy and zest. She loved life and loved to make things beautiful. She had a passion for interior decorating, and she filled every detail of her life with color and flair. She was spunky, feisty, and while small in stature, still filled a room, commanding attention with her unmistakable voice, traditional southern Virginia accent and sparkly, animal print accessories. Mae was one of a kind and there will never be anyone else like her. A memorial service honoring Mae's life will follow at a later date.
