Obituary – Joseph W. Dickenson, Sr.

Joseph W. Dickenson, Sr., 95, of Henrico, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 21, 2017. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Frances T. Dickenson; two children, Joseph W. Dickenson Jr. (Lynn) and Linda D. Cotton (David); grandson, Andrew J. Dickenson (Carrie); great-grandson, Sawyer J. Dickenson; and stepgrandson, Jason L. Marsh. Joe was a WWII U.S. Army veteran, a long-time employee of Nolde's Bakery, and was retired from the County of Henrico. He was also a long-time member of Mechanicsville United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, at the Mechanicsville Chapel of the Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Rd., where services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, June 24, 2017. Interment will follow in Signal Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mechanicsville UMC, 7356 Atlee Rd., Mechanicsville, Va. 23111.
