Obituary – Linda Spinelli

Linda Spinelli, 70, of Glen Allen passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Joan Lynch. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 48 years Michael Spinelli; her son Christopher Spinelli (Sumi Kim) and their son Justin; and her son Mark Spinelli (Jennifer Guo) and their children Amanda and Adam. All her life, Linda enjoyed taking trips to destinations around the world. She was an excellent travel companion for Michael. She was always interested in new sights, and in sharing what she had seen. She loved Italy and its art, and exotic places charmed her. For a lark, she would play the slot machines in Vegas. She enjoyed the good cheer of sending funny emails and giving playful little gifts. She loved decorating her house anew every season, watching her grandchildren make sandcastles on the beach, hearing a rainstorm on her screen porch, or just sitting by the fireplace with her dog Lacey on her lap. Linda will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend. The family will receive friends 1-3 PM Saturday April 15, 2017 at Bliley's – Central, 3801 Augusta Avenue, Richmond. Reflections of Linda's life will begin at 2:30. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to VCU School of the Arts, Art History Department, 325 North Harrison Street, Richmond, VA 23284.

The Henrico Theatre Company will present “Driving Miss Daisy” Sept. 15 to Oct. 1 at The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen. Taking place in the deep South in 1948 just prior to the civil rights movement, this is a warmhearted, humorous and affecting study of the unlikely relationship between an aging, crotchety white Southern lady and a proud, soft-spoken black man. All performances are at 8 p.m. except for Sunday matinees which start at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for seniors (55+) and students.
