Obituary – Robert B. Carlton, Jr.

Robert B. Carlton, Jr., 94, of Henrico, died Saturday, April 1, 2017. He was a native of West Point, Va. and the son of the late Robert B. Sr. and Lucretia W. Carlton. Bernard served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was a graduate of Cincinatti College of Mortuary Science and then later retired as a Vice President of The Joseph W. Bliley Funeral Home in 1990. He is survived by his constant four-legged friend, "Abigail"; a cousin, Ernest Obrig; and his loving caregivers, Alexis Auberjonois, Lou and Sherrie Smith and Justin Smith. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 4, at Bliley's-Central, 3801 Augusta Ave. A graveside ceremony will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, at Hollywood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Richmond SPCA.
