Obituary – Michael Lee

Michael Lee, 64, of Glen Allen, passed away suddenly of heart failure at his home on Friday, February 17, 2017. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Peggy T. Neely; their beloved son, Ian Michael Neely of Arlington, Va. and his sweet cat, Bevo. Michael was born on January 29, 1953, in Oak Hill, W.Va. and was preceded in death by his parents, John A. Neely Jr. and Violet Marie Peters Neely; and brother, Don Thomas Neely. He was raised in Victoria, Texas and graduated from the University of Texas-Austin in 1972, where he was a member of Kappa Alpha fraternity. Michael was retired from Union Pacific Corp and Overnite Transportation Co. and was co-owner of Creery Custom Shirts. He was a man of great faith, who was passionate about the Bible and was a longtime parishioner of Christ Church Episcopal, where he served tirelessly in many capacities. Michael was an avid UT Longhorns fan and enjoyed being a member of the APA Pool League. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and loyal friend known for his generosity and his ability to make others happy. A memorial service to celebrate Michael's life will be held at Christ Church Episcopal, 5000 Pouncey Tract Rd., Glen Allen, Va. 23059 on Saturday, March 18, 2017, at 1 p.m. A reception will follow.
