Henrico-based Colortree Group, Inc. LLC has announced the appointment of Terry Manis as CFO. Manis will be heavily involved in all aspects of strategic initiatives including budgeting and forecasting. He also will maintain a strong relationship with Sterling National Bank and ensure the responsibility of the accounting department. Manis has more than 25 years of global/manufacturing experience, most recently as Vice President of Finance and Accounting for Quibca Holdings, a large global manufacturer headquartered in Italy. Manis oversaw various business functions related to financial planning, budgeting, cash management, distribution, tax, and all other facets of accounting. Manis, who began his career as operations accountant at McKesson HBOC, received his BBA from Marshall University in 1989 and his MBA from Averett University in 1999. Colortree Group, Inc. is a full-service manufacturer of envelope products and print services for the direct mail industry.

The Richmond Volleyball Club has hired Christopher Byham as Junior Technical Program Manager. With more than 700 young athletes involved in RVC’s Junior Competitive Travel Program, Byham is charged with overseeing all programming, training and competitive play. Most recently, Byham was assistant coaching women’s volleyball at California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo. In addition, he spent the past five years working with USA Volleyball High Performance. He has a long history of junior club and high school coaching experience with both boys’ and girls’ teams in California. A graduate of Penn State University, Byham holds multiple coaching certifications including: USA Volleyball CAP I, IMPACT, NFHS, Gold Medal Squared and NCAA Division I Recruiting. He was a four-year varsity starter for Paso Robles High School from 1996-2000. From 1999-2000, he was the team captain and was an All-Los Padres League First Team selection in 1999 and helped capture the Northern California Volleyball Association (NCVA) Regional Championship, in addition to earning NCVA Regional Championship All-Tournament Team honors.

Henrico-based brand merchandising company NewClients, Inc. has changed its name to Boost Promotional Branding.

Lidl competition offers shoppers chance to win NYC trip


Three Lidl shoppers will win trips to New York City to receive a first-look at the Esmara by Heidi Klum collection and attend an international runway event debuting the collection. The contest is open to residents of Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina – the three states in which Lidl currently operates grocery stores. Earnhardt gives Redskins a ride


Dale Earnhardt Jr., driver of the Hendrick Motorsports No. 88, stopped at Richmond Raceway Aug. 8 in advance of the track’s NASCAR weekend in September. He was joined by five players from the Washington Redskins, who were in town for the team's training camp, which concluded Aug. 14. The day in Richmond gave Earnhardt and the Redskins players an opportunity to see how the athletes compete in their respective sports. > Read more.

READ Center a finalist for $25k grant


The READ Center is a top-200 cause finalist in State Farm’s Neighborhood Assist program, making it eligible to earn a $25,000 grant to support adult literacy in the Richmond region. The 40 organizations from across the nation with the most votes will win grants.

The READ Center, based in Henrico, provides classroom instruction and one-to-one tutoring to adults with very low literacy. > Read more.
