Coaching legend Bobby Ross to speak at Hermitage H.S.

Richmond coaching legend Bobby Ross will be the guest speaker at the next meeting of the Touchdown Club of Richmond, to be held at Hermitage High School Oct. 10. Club members will meet in the library at 6 p.m. for dinner and Ross will speak at 7 p.m. in the auditorium.
A 1955 graduate of Benedictine High School in Richmond, Ross played quarterback and defensive back for VMI before beginning his coaching career at Colonial Heights H.S. He went on to guide the 1990 Georgia Tech team to the NCAA National Football Championship and took the San Diego Chargers to Super Bowl XXIX.

Reynolds Community College will host Richmond sculptor Paul DiPasquale Sept. 28 as he shares his presentation “Art Talk, Why Art Matters” from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Conference Center Gallery of the Workforce Development and Conference Center on the Parham Road Campus, located at 1651 E. The Children's Clothing Closet at Highland Springs United Methodist Church will be open Saturday, Aug. 27 and Tuesday, Aug. 30 to provide free new or nearly new children's clothing for families in need, prior to the start of the school year.
