Didn't get a ticket to the sold-out Varina-Highland Springs football game Friday night? You can still watch the game online, thanks to Henrico County Public Schools. HCPS-TV will stream the game live through its website, http://www.henrico.k12.va.us Varin.a enters the game 8-1, while Highland Springs is 7-2. Richmond coaching legend Bobby Ross will be the guest speaker at the next meeting of the Touchdown Club of Richmond, to be held at Hermitage High School Oct. 10. Club members will meet in the library at 6 p.m. for dinner and Ross will speak at 7 p.m. in the auditorium. > Read more.

Richmond International Raceway will again host two NASCAR weekends – and two Sprint Cup Series races – in 2012, track officials announced today.
Next year's Sprint Cup races will be held April 28 and Sept. 8. The track also will host Nationwide Series races April 27 and Sept. 7 and a NASCAR K&N Pro Series East race April 26. > Read more.

University of Richmond head football coach Latrell Scott has resigned today, after being charged with driving while intoxicated earlier today in Henrico County and refusing a breathalyzer and blood test.
Scott, a Midlothian resident, faces a hearing Sept. 27 at 11 a.m. in Henrico County General District Court. The DWI charge is Scott's second in a 5-10 year period, according to the Virginia Courts Case Information website.

Henrico County and the Glen Allen Youth Athletic Association are hosting the 2011 Babe Ruth Baseball 14-Year-Old World Series at the Glen Allen Stadium at RF&P Park on Mountain Road today through next Friday.
The 10-team event begins tonight with an opening banquet at Glen Allen High School at 5 p.m. followed by opening ceremonies at 7:30 p.m. and a home run derby at 8:30 p.m. at RF&P Park. > Read more.

The Henrico campus of Stratford University will host a Food and Culture Festival on Saturday, Oct. 5 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. It will feature food from around the world, three culinary competitions, cultural entertainment and more.
Stratford has partnered with ClearChannel radio to present the Richmond Best Chefs Competition, where local budding chefs have the opportunity to compete for scholarship prizes. The CAT Theatre celebrated its 50th anniversary last month, as patrons, actors and crew members gathered at Burkwood Swim and Racquet Club in Mechanicsville for a fund-raising auction that included memories, tributes and live entertainment.

Chuy’s proves it’s possible to have many locations but retain unique feel
If you’ve driven through Short Pump in the past six months, there’s not a chance you’ve missed Chuy’s, the big and bold Tex-Mex restaurant in West Broad Village. From the outside, the brightly painted 8,000 square foot building gives a foretaste of what’s inside: eclectic decor, a fun menu, and from my experience, a lot of noise. The restaurant is a chain of 40 in the nation, but it’s the first of its kind in Virginia.
We were fortunate to arrive at 6 p.m. on a Wednesday, the perfect time for happy hour. From 4-7 p.m. Monday through Friday, there are drink specials, but what’s really special is the free nacho bar served out of a giant car hood. > Read more.
