Famous Henrico Citizens: GABRIEL

Gabriel was a slave born in Henrico County in 1776 – the same year the United States became free from Great Britain. He was a blacksmith who lived on a tobacco plantation called Brookfield, owned by a man named Thomas Prosser.

American Legion Post 233 in Varina will host Trunk or Treat from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Decorated “trunks” will be giving out candy to kids and there will be hot dogs, chips and drinks (free for kids under age 12 and $1 each to ages 13 and older).
