Nicholas Hudson, of Glen Allen, recently graduated from Randolph College in Lynchburg, Va. Hudson received a bachelor of arts degree in communication studies.
Keith Willingham, of Henrico, recently graduated from Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pa. Willingham received a bachelor of science degree from the university’s School of Technical and Professional Studies.
Evan Smith, of Richmond, recently was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2012 semester at Randolph College in Lynchburg, Va.
Melissa Keller, of Richmond, recently graduated from Harding University in Searcy, Ark. Keller received a master of science degree in professional counseling.
Navy Seaman Recruit Marquis A. Chappelle, son of Glenda E. Goode, of Highland Springs, and Craig Chappelle, of Richmond, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Ill. During the eight-week program, Chappelle completed a variety of training which included classroom study and practical instruction on naval customs, first aid, firefighting, water safety and survival, shipboard and aircraft safety and physical fitness. The capstone event of boot camp is "Battle Stations,” an exercise that gives recruits the skills and confidence they need to succeed in the fleet. "Battle Stations" is designed to galvanize the basic warrior attributes of sacrifice, dedication, teamwork and endurance in each recruit through the practical application of basic Navy skills and the core values of honor, courage and commitment. Its distinctly ''Navy'' flavor was designed to take into account what it means to be a Sailor. Chappelle is a 2009 graduate of Highland Springs High School.
The Pemberton at University Park senior community will host a dedication ceremony for its Veterans Wall of Honor June 9 at 10:30 a.m. The ceremony will honor residents who have served in the military.
Deep Run High School Cadets will provide a color guard for the event.
Community members have taken photos of residents in uniform, as well as residents with pictures of their military units from their days of service that will be on display the day of the event. > Read more.

Returning favorites, new acts and new dining options highlight the 2016-17 Center Season and 2nd Stage schedules at The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen.
CACGA's Center Season performance series will return Sept. 10 with Capitol Steps (pictured), an audience favorite that brings a unique blend of music and political comedy to the Sara Belle November Stage. The Acrobats of Cirque-tacular will perform Oct. 22, showcasing their troupe of aerialists, acrobats and contortionists. > Read more.
