Willow Lawn shopping center will offer free shuttle trolley service between Church Hill and the center on four days during the next two weeks.
The shuttle will run from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 28 and Sunday, Nov. 30, as well as Friday, Dec. 5 and Sunday, Dec. 7 as part of "Green Ride RVA."
The service stems from a national sustainability transportation program funded by the Ford Motor Company, in partnership with eight universities, including VCU in Richmond.

UPDATE: AUG. 18, 1:42 P.M. – Elephant Insurance is moving its U.S. headquarters from one Henrico location to another.
The company announced that it will relocate to a 54,000-square-foot space in the Allianz Global Assistance building at 9950 Mayland Drive. The building is the former home of Circuit City.
Elephant Auto has been located in Henrico for five years. The move will nearly double its existing space in size and will allow the company to nearly double its workforce in the next several years, to more than 600 employees.

CarLotz, a Richmond-based used vehicle consignment business serving the sale-by-owner and corporate fleet vehicle market, recently announced the closing of a $5-million round of equity capital that will aid the company’s expansion efforts. CarLotz currently operates in Henrico, Midlothian and Chesapeake. The capital was raised from the company’s existing investors as well as funds from a small handful of investors and executives with experience in national multi-site retail expansion, real estate, and the broader automotive industry. CarLotz is actively seeking new retail center locations throughout Virginia, North Carolina, Maryland and Georgia in the near term with plans to expand further up and down the east coast over the next several years.

The Henrico Economic Development Authority will host two innovation events in October designed to inspire entrepreneurs who are starting new businesses and to support business owners who are seeking to take their companies to the next level. The events will be held on back-to-back days at The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen.
The EDA’s Catalyst business workshop on Thursday, Oct. 16, will run from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is targeted to business owners who want to advance their businesses. It will include a handful of rapid-fire sessions about common business pain points and trending topics of 2014, networking segments and “work team” breakout sessions designed to address problem-solving and promote group sharing.

In its 22nd year, YMCA Bright Beginnings will take local children from low-income families on back-to-school shopping trips in the next few weeks. Starting Monday, July 28, 2014 about 200 of these kids will receive new shoes from Saxon Shoes as part of this program.
“We started working with Bright Beginnings about 7 years ago and we love it. The children come in so excited for their fitting and walk out all smiles with a new pair of shoes for back to school” said Amanda Weiner, Special Projects Coordinator for Saxon.

Sixty Bojangles' restaurants in Virginia and North Carolina will host a “Stuff the Bus” drive on Saturday, Aug. 9.
The drive is designed to help public school children in need of school supplies by collecting pencils, paper and other necessary items – along with the backpacks to hold them.

Southern Season celebrated its grand opening on Staples Mill Road earlier this week with an invitation-only sneak peek, during which the company's Share the Food Foundation made a $20,000 donation to FeedMore.
The store combines groceries with a wine and beer bar, gift baskets, housewares and a restaurant, among other amenities. It's the first business to open in the new 80-acre Libbie Mill development at the intersection of Staples Mill Road and Bethlehem Road, near I-64 in the Near West End.
