In preparation for Thanksgiving, the Citizen asked several Henrico County elementary school classes to answer questions about the holiday. Their responses appear here. Why do we celebrate Thanksgiving?



Ms. Dillon’s kindergarten class, Seven Pines Elementary School

Because to celebrate the people that brought food.

To eat ham and turkey.

Because it’s Thanksgiving and we eat and drink milk.

Because we eat and drink and watch “Nick Jr” on TV.

Because they like to eat food – potatoes and corn.

‘Cause it’s fun to eat mashed potatoes and have cheesecake.

Because we go to people’s houses and eat dinner like turkeys.

Because it’s nice to share food and be good to other people and stuff like that.

Because we celebrate turkeys!

Because we eat turkey and lots of food. Then, you get ice cream.

You can bring corn and share it.
