Volunteers sought for ACT-NOW safety program

Henrico County Police Division is seeking volunteers to patrol Henrico shopping centers during the busy holiday shopping season as part of the ACT-NOW (Awareness of Crime Today – Neighbors On Watch) program, which is designed to help curb crime. Volunteers will work under the direction of an officer and will be trained prior to the patrol.
Volunteers may choose which featured shopping center they would like to patrol each weekend beginning Nov. 24. Each patrol will run from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Patrols will occur: Nov. 24 – Regency Square Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 – Willow Lawn Dec. 7 and 8 – Virginia Center Commons Dec. 14 and 15 – White Oak Village Dec. 21 and 22 – Short Pump Town Center For details or to volunteer, call Billie Tebbens of the Crime Prevention Unit at (804) 501-5934. |
