VDOT plans repaving projects in Henrico
|
VDOT officials are beginning their spring repaving season with plans to spend more than $100 million to apply more than one million tons of asphalt to state-maintained roads in the Richmond region in the coming months.
A number of projects are planned in Henrico County, including: • a $6.3 million project to mill and pave various sections along I-95 south between the James River Bridge in Richmond and the Parham Road interchange in Henrico; completion is expected in October; • a $4.9 million project for concrete patching, asphalt overlay and guardrail upgrades to more than two miles of I-295 south between just south of Airport Drive (mile marker 30) and the I-64 interchange (mile marker 28) in Henrico; completion is expected in September; • an $8 million project for concrete patching to more than 20 miles of I-295 north and south between I-95 in Prince George County and the Kingsland Road overpass in Henrico; completion is expected in October; • a $9 million project to pave several routes in Goochland, Hanover, Charles City, Henrico and New Kent; • and two projects totaling $4.8 million to pave the road and shoulders and upgrade guardrail at various locations throughout the region. Drivers can expect to see primarily nighttime paving, but may encounter some daytime paving during non peak hours throughout the season. For details, visit http://www.VirginiaDOT.org |

Ironfish delights with a variety of tasty catches

I was overjoyed to head back for another meal at Ironfish by Pescados, considered the Best New Restaurant in 2011 by both the Richmond Times Dispatch and Richmond Magazine. I agree whole-heartedly with their ratings. Since I first visited the restaurant for my birthday in January, I was waiting for the perfect special occasion to return. I couldn’t wait another year, obviously.
Run by the same restaurateurs as Pescados Latin Caribbean Seafood in Midlothian and Eat in Oregon Hill, Ironfish offers the same unique dishes and top-level customer service. > Read more.
