UR president’s radio show to be aired on C-SPAN 3 June 18
An episode of “Backstory with the American History Guys,” a radio program co-hosted by University of Richmond President Ed Ayers, will be televised June 18, at 6 p.m. on C-SPAN 3.
C-SPAN videotaped the program on the Richmond campus in April. In addition to Ayers, co-hosts are Peter Onuf and Brian Balogh, history professors at the University of Virginia.
“Backstory” is a program of the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities and airs on public radio stations throughout the country. On each show, the hosts take an item from today’s headlines and provide historical perspective of the topic.
The June 18 program explores the role of Virginia in the lead-up to the Civil War.
Locally, C-SPAN 3 airs on Comcast Cable channel 105 and FiOS channel 111.
