Tuckahoe meeting scheduled for Oct. 2

The next town meeting of Tuckahoe District Supervisor Patricia S. O’Bannon will cover issues related to voting in the Nov. 6 general election.

The meeting will be held at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2 at the Tuckahoe Area Library, 1901 Starling Dr.

Virginia State Board of Elections Chairman Charles Judd and Henrico County General Registrar Mark Coakley will join O’Bannon at each session to discuss the voting process, including registration, precinct changes, how votes are counted and where to report harassment or other problems at the polls.

Henrico Junior 4-H camp registration open

For parents looking to keep their kids outside and away from the video games this summer, the Virginia Cooperative Extension is still accepting registrations for the 2013 Henrico Junior 4-H Camp.

The camp will be held June 17-23, and is open to boys and girls ages 9-13. A total of 10 spaces for boys and 27 spaces for girls remain available, and registration is open until May 24. The cost is $230, which includes lodging, meals, programs, instructional materials and charter bus transportation. > Read more.

The Wine Loft opened in West Broad Village in January 2010, offering a full bar with wine, beer, spirits and a kitchen with tapas-style snacks. It offers a seasonal patio area along Whittall Way.
