Suspects sought in auto larcenies
Henrico Police continue to seek suspects who attempted to use stolen credit cards at a Henrico Wal-Mart and a Martin's store on Forest Hill Avenue. The credit cards were reported stolen during an earlier larceny from an automobile in Henrico – one of 40 reports of larcenies from autos in western Henrico since Feb. 12, according to police.
The stolen cards were used by two suspects at the Martin's on Forest Hill Avenue on March 20 at about 7 a.m. Both suspects are described as white males of average build in their 20s or 30s. One of the suspects was seen in photos previously released at a Wal-Mart on Forest Hill Avenue on Feb. 18, in which he was wearing a Miami Dolphins hat, an oversized jacket, blue jeans and white tennis shoes.
Victims in the larcenies have reported various items stolen, including pocketbooks, wallets, credit cards and other personal items. Over three fourths of the larcenies involve vehicles left unlocked; the others involve forced entry into locked vehicles where valuables were left in plain view. These crimes are occurring mostly between 2 a.m. and 7 a.m.
Henrico County Police officials are seeking the public's assistance in identifying and locating the suspect responsible for these crimes. Anyone with information regarding these offenses is asked to contact Henrico Police at (804) 501-5000 or Crime Stoppers at (804) 780-1000. Citizens can also text Crime Stoppers at 274637, using the key word “ITip” followed by your tip. Both Crime Stoppers methods are anonymous.
The police also are reminding citizens to lock valuables in the trunks of their vehicles, and to avoid leaving items such as purses, wallets, and GPS units in plain view.
